Captain Cavegirl Grows Up
When Sarah was little Pat gave her the nickname Captain Cavegirl. My sweet girl has never been what you would call delicate. She has always been physically tough and strong, and we used to laugh and say that when she is ready for a husband she would club one and bring him home lol.
That has changed. She is still strong and athletic (she learned to water ski on her first try last week), but she also loves to shop, wear jewelry and just went to her 8th grade formal dance. Much to Pat's relief it was not a boy/girl dance, and I'm not sure how formal it was - I think the girls dressed up more than the boys. Sarah was super excited about it though. We shopped for the perfect dress and she looked so beautiful in it. She got ready here so I could take a few pictures and then went to a friend's house to finish getting ready. After the dance Pat took the girls for milkshakes and then we had a sleepover here. They had a wonderful time and Pat remarked that Captain Cavegirl has grown up. After shopping with her for swimsuits all day yesterday, I concur. Lucky for us she is still sweet as ever and we really are blessed to have such a wonderful kid.
Here she is before the dance.
In other news, the kids are almost done with school and very excited for summer. Sarah has her first babysitting job - she will be watching our neighbor's kids while our neighbor is home but working, 3 days a week for just a few hours each day. I think it is the perfect transition into babysitting. She is great with kids and neighbors have been asking if she can babysit but I've been a little nervous about it. I think this is the perfect way to see how it goes. Sam is very excited about Boy Scout camp this summer and is making great strides in earning his merit badges and getting closer to his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout. Pat is busy with work and so am I.
I have had a chance to finish a few scrapbook pages though so I thought I would share them.
I did these two for Webster's Pages using the new Sweet as Cherry Pie line:
Pat and I just celebrated our 20 year anniversary of our meeting, which made me want to scrap one of our wedding pictures:
and here is one I did a bit ago - how cute are Sam and Phoenix!
Thanks for stopping by!
